Wet n Wild Swatches

So, it only took me a very...VERY long time to get these swatches up.  I actually had them done not to long after I bought all of the palettes but I didn't like the photos once I uploaded them and saw them in iPhoto.  I finally had the time (and the sunlight) to do these swatches properly and they came out a lot better.  All swatches are done on my bare forearm, with no base and in natural light (I tried not to do direct sunlight).

Starting with the Greed palette:

All of these palettes consist of at least 3 mattes and 3 shimmers.  These shades can be broken down to highlight shades, medium lid colors, and some darker colors to add depth to the look.  For the Greed palette, the lightest shade in this palette is a creamy vanilla shade.  The next matte is a warmer, medium peach.  The darkest color in this palette is a matte black.  On the shimmer side, the lightest color is a pale lilac color with a nice gold sheen.  The middle shade is a shimmery peach color as well and the darkest shade is a shimmery dark charcoal.

The lightest shimmery colors in this palette are a little sheer and work better with a more pigmented base underneath.  The mattes are very creamy and smooth, a little powdery if you're not careful.  The staying power of these shadows is comaprable to more expensive brands (with a primer of course) with very little fading.

Next up is the Lust palette:

(please excuse the wonkiness of this collage)

The lightest matte shade is a very pale, milky pinky-purple.  The last two mattes are a medium and dark purple.  The shimmer side has a very pale, pale pink with very tiny flecks of glitter in it.  The last two shades are a charcoal grey with tiny holographic glitter and a blackened cherry with tiny red glitters.

This palette consists of shadows that are creamy and easy to work with.  They are very pigmented (I would pack theses shadows on as opposed to swiping) and easily blended.  Again, with a proper primer (Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is my primer of choice) the staying power of these shadows is comparable to more expensive brands, with no fading.

The next palette could be called "neutral" as it consists of mostly brown shades, the Vanity Palette:

This palette is really 3 matte and shimmery versions of almost the same color shadows.  The matte side has a light beige, soft brown, and darker chestnut shadow.  I've used these colors for work a ton!  The shimmery side also has a light beige, a pale gold, and a nice bronze.

These shadows are all very pigmented, easily blended and have great staying power!  This is a great "everyday" palette for you neutral lovers!

The last palette consists of blues and greens, the Pride Palette:

The Pride palette also has 3 mattes and shimmers of the same colors: a matte white/shimmery white, matte light green/shimmery light green, and a matte navy blue/shimmery dark blue.  Again, all of these shadows are easy to work with.  I do notice some fading with the matte green though.

The sad thing about all of these palettes is that they are slated to be discontinued by the end of this year.  If you happen to see the out, I would still purchase them because they will last you a long time.  I bought all of these palettes for about $5 each (which is full-price) but the price is not bad for the quality of these shadows from a drugstore company no less!!  I still hope to nab some of these on clearance for back-ups or more giveaways!!

One other thing I want to add is that the matte highlight in the Greed palette is very close (if not an exact match) to the single shadow "Brulee", aslo by Wet n Wild.  The matte highlight in the Vanity palette is much lighter in comparison.  I'll throw in a comparison photo later.

Next up are swatches of my Sugarpill shadows and Magnolia Makeup pigments!!
